Not only do we get multiple POVs (told in 3rd person narrative), but this book also switches from past to present and back again. It’s not for the faint of heart there’re plenty of emotions that pack a powerful punch. The inner monologues and their struggles that they try so hard to keep buried are heartbreaking.

Not only when hearing about the actual events that have taken place but how these events have shifted the main characters’ perception of themselves. Both of these characters have difficult pasts. This isn’t the heaviest book I’ve ever read but there are definitely a few scenes that are hard or extremely sad to read.
